Oscar Castaneda

Civil Rights for Immigrants Task Force Chair

Oscar Castaneda has been a resident of Lansing since 1998.

He hauled from Guatemala in a long journey that included his college years in Mexico City and graduate school in Buffalo, NY. He went through it with his wife and his two daughters Maria and Anaite who are now married and living in other cities although they were raised and educated in the Lansing Area.

Because of his own struggles with the immigration system Oscar became acquainted with Action of Greater Lansing where he started his involvement in the Civil Rights for Immigrants Task Force, which he now chairs.
