Hiring a Lead Organizer
Action of Greater Lansing is seeking a “Lead Organizer” experienced in congregation
centered community organizing to recruit new membership and identify, train, and
organize community leaders to address local and regional issues such as education,
criminal justice reform, health care delivery, and immigrant rights.
The “Lead Organizer” must be: a strategic thinker, able to inspire others to act, willing to
take risks, self-motivated, and have a deep desire to work for racial and economic justice
in our society. Must have administrative experience and the ability to work effectively
across cultures. Bilingual, Spanish speaking preferred.
Successful inexperienced candidates will be required to attend the 7-day residential
Gamaliel National Leadership Training within 120 days of start date. Expenses paid by

Successful candidates will be invited to interview with the search committee during work
hours the week of July 23 rd .
